Jack of all trades is a master of none, but is often better than a master of one.

I pride myself on the variety of jobs I’ve held and what I’ve learned from them. Including:

Economic analysis: I’ve worked extensively with publicly available economic data, such as ACS, BLS, and LAUS. I’ve also worked with tools like Lightcast and know how to effectively visualize this data in programs like PowerBI. I also have experience working in R.

Stakeholder engagement: I’ve done hundreds of hours leading focus groups, interviews, and workshops with stakeholders ranging from community members to CEOs to government officials.

Strategy development: I’ve helped develop economic development strategies for states, regions, and cities focusing on topics such as workforce development, community development, economic diversification, and others.

Policy analysis: I worked in the Texas Legislature analyzing policy related to criminal and juvenile justice reform, gun rights, and economic incentive reform. I produced policy and research briefs for Representative James White.

Digital ethnography: I researched crypto social ecosystems by diving into their discords, community and technical meetings, and Twitter. This research focused mainly on crypto use cases related to city and economic development.

Community organization: I have run a 501(c)3 arts non-profit in Bryan, Texas, which hosted weekly open mics; taught at elementary, intermediate, and high schools; volunteered at the Juvenile Justice Center of Bryan; and hosted an international competition with an audience of over 500. This non-profit was funded through a Brazos County hotel and tourism grant and through community donations.

Event management: I have managed multi-day events ranging from housing policy conferences to international poetry competitions, including: event design; volunteer management; performer management; audience management; media management; social media outreach; catering and accommodations.

Public speaking: I have presented research at panels, moderated speaking events, spoke on CNN, and hosted performance events in front of hundreds of audience members.

Bartending and coffee making: While I can make a good drink, the more important skill with this is my ability to make people feel comfortable and at home when I’m serving them.
